In every Pitt Online course, you'll find some version of a Getting to Know You survey just like this one. It's a simple but meaningful way for your instructor to learn about who you are as a learner — your goals, your strengths, and what kind of support works best for you. Keep in mind that faculty personalize this experience in their own way, so what this looks like may vary from course to course!
Module0Getting to Know You Survey
Estimated time to complete: 10-15 minutes
Purpose
This survey is designed to help your instructor understand who you are as a learner and as a person. Every student brings unique experiences, goals, strengths, and needs to a course. By sharing a bit about yourself, you give your instructor information they can use to tailor examples, communication, assignments, and support structures throughout the semester. This aligns with our commitment to building a learning environment that is human-centered, responsive, and grounded in care.
This survey is not graded and is not used to assess your knowledge. Instead, it helps us build a community where you feel seen, supported, and able to succeed.
Instructions
Answer each question as openly and honestly as you feel comfortable.
You are never required to share anything you prefer to keep private. If a question does not apply to you or you do not wish to answer it, you may simply write "prefer not to answer."
Your responses will be viewed only by the instructor and will be used solely for supporting you learning in this course.
Thank you for taking the time to share a bit about yourself - we really value the opportunity to get to know you.
